God Help us all

Of course being an atheistic type person I think George W. Bush winning a second term is proof that there is no God. The worse part about this whole thing is that the on Tuesday the US truly showed its Neo-Nazist leanings by ensuring a one party system. There are no checks and balances to ensure that the Neo-conservatives of the Bush administration don't overreach there bounds. The next invasion is coming I'm sure.

There are many ironies about the way GWB won this election. Apparently they were scared out of making a change for the positive. Cheney's threats about 'making the wrong decision' obviously rang true with the American public. The specter of September 11th, the fear of it happening to them, made them think that GWB would keep them safe. Of course September 11th happened on his watch, and in New York. New Yorkers saw this. They voted overwhelmingly for Kerry! Steven Colbert, form the Daily Show, made a great comment about how ironic that was (I'll see if I can find the quote for you). In the meantime no one seemed to care that Osama Bin Laden is still out there, on Friday there was another video, what happened to smoking him out of his hole? Talk about terrorists as a nuisance. If I was an American the simple fact that Bin Laden is even around to make threats suggest that the Bush administration wasn't doing its job. Personally I think most Americans were duped, in part by the corporate dominated media and by the administration. Maybe they wake up soon...

I'm scared an worried, for my American friends, and the rest of us... I'm waiting for the doomsday clock to move closer to midnight... The uncertainty and the prospects of another 4 years of a president that believes in the Rapture and believes he is spreading 'freedom' through violence makes me wonder if we're going to get of of this alive.

The only thing I feel I can do is reach for a song top sum up my fears...

Johnny's in America
Low techs at the wheel
Nobody needs anyone
They don't even just pretend
Johnny's in America

I'm afraid of Americans
I'm afraid of the world
I'm afraid I can't help it
I'm afraid I can't
I'm afraid of Americans

Johnny's in America
Johnny wants a brain
Johnny wants to suck on a Coke
Johnny wants a woman
Johnny wants to think of a joke
Johnny's in America

I'm afraid of Americans
Johnny's in America
Johnny looks up at the stars
Johnny combs his hair
And Johnny wants pussy in cars
Johnny's in America
Johnny's in America

I'm afraid of Americans
God is an American
God is an American

Yeah, I'm afraid of Americans
I'm afraid of the words
I'm afraid I can't help it
I'm afraid I can't
I'm afraid of Americans

Johnny's an American
Johnny's an American
Johnny's an American

God is an American
God is an American
God is an American
God is an American
